AnDevCon feedback and outlook
How time flies! I am so busy working on my clients Android application and the book about the Hudson continuous integration server that my blogging got a bit neglected. In the frenzy I did manage to work on a whole bunch of pull requests for the Maven Android Plugins upcoming releases and get involved again in AnDevCon. Yeah.. AnDevCon was a great conference earlier this year and my feedback is on the site for the upcoming AnDevCon 2 in November. And I will be there again. But let’s start with more from AnDevCon 1.

Android Development Introduction at VIJUG
Last night I presented at the Vancouver Island JUG about Android development. The meeting was well attended with about 20 attendees and everybody learned about things like the activity life cycle, layout files, resources and many more things. The presentation file is available for download just in case you need to look something up or you could not attend.

AnDevCon 2011 in hindsight – Part 1
It was just a few days before the speaker proposal submit deadline that I found out about the AnDevCon Anroid Developer Conference and luckily my proposal got accepted. In the last those three days I met an incredible amount of people, put a lot of faces to contacts I already know or know of via twitter, blogs and more and also learned a whole lot of new stuff. Not to mention that it was very inspiring on a technical level and beyond and there are now a lot of more things on my todo and want to look at list 😉

Fragments for all Maven users
Now that the static library for Fragments support down to Android 1.6 is available as part of the SDK download, I have updated the Maven Android SDK Deployer to push the jar into your Maven repository so you can use it as part of your Android project built with the great Maven Android Plugin.
